The Fab-zipper differentiates from competing molecules (Monoclonal antibodies, nanobodies, ScFv ...) thanks to its capacities of coupling and addressing (selection) in perfectly controlled conditions.
The first application of the Fab-zipper is a field biodosimetry device of external radiation soon to be commercialized by ACUBENS: the DosiKit.
The Fab-zipper is composed of a structure of antibodies fragments. It is based on the combination of its active part (Fab) with a couple of complementary nucleic acid strands. This innovation allows on one hand the structuration of the active part and on the other hand the coupling and the addressing (selection) in a rapid and simple manner.
The coupling can be done in particular with fluorescent markers and medicinal molecules. The addressing can be done amongst others on chips or on nanoparticles. For the Health domain, the Fab-zipper is a real innovative technological breakthrough. It keeps all the advantages of a classic antibody, in particular a specific affinity for antigenic targets, but on top of that it has easier coupling performance, customization and production. This first-class and outstandingly polyvalent molecule offers an exceptional potential for Research, Diagnostic or Therapy.
